Frequently asked questions

Will my photos be uploaded somewhere?+

No. Your image never leaves your device — splitting happens entirely in your browser.

How do I split a ChatGPT or GPT Image 2 grid into separate images?+

GPT Image 2 often returns one image containing a 2x2 or 3x3 grid of variations. Upload that image, pick the matching grid size, and click "Download all as ZIP" — you'll get each variation as its own PNG.

I don't have an image yet. Where can I make one?+

Head to our generator at /studio/generate, create an image with GPT Image 2 or Nano Banana, then come back here to slice it up.

Can I split an image into uneven pieces?+

Yes. Uncheck "Lock equal cells" and drag any of the purple cut lines to wherever you want them.

How do I make a 9-grid for Instagram?+

Pick the 3x3 preset, upload your image, and download the ZIP. You'll get nine PNGs labeled by row and column so you can post them in order.

What image formats work?+

PNG, JPG, WebP, and GIF on input. Output tiles are always PNG to keep them lossless.

Does splitting reduce image quality?+

No. Tiles are cut from the original pixels and saved as PNG, so each tile stays at full quality with no recompression.

What's the biggest image I can split?+

There's no hard limit, but very large images use more memory. Up to ~8K resolution works smoothly on most laptops.
